Irrigation Consultation Program
Orange County Utilities offers irrigation consultations to high use water customers to help ensure efficient water usage.
Details
Irrigation consultations are provided for Orange County Utilities water customers who have an in-ground irrigation system and who use approximately 15,000 gallons of water or more per month. There is no charge for this service. A certified irrigation technician will perform the inspection steps below, which can take approximately one hour to complete.
Check the rain sensor to ensure it is working efficiently
Check the irrigation controller to ensure it is set in accordance with the mandatory watering restrictions and has an operational backup battery
Run all the irrigation zones to determine the flow rates, ensure there are no broken heads, and ensure that the zones are not watering areas such as the street or driveway
Provide education on how to set the timer based on observation of landscaping condition and system configuration.
Important
Must be an Orange County Utilities customer who uses potable water for irrigation to qualify for this program.
