Irrigation Inspection Program

Orange County Utilities offers irrigation inspections to potable water customers using more than 15,000 gallons of water per month.

Details

Irrigation inspections are provided for Orange County Utilities potable water customers who have an in-ground irrigation system and who use approximately 15,000 gallons of water or more per month.  There is no charge for this service. A certified irrigation technician will perform the inspection steps below, which can take approximately one hour to complete.

  • Check the rain sensor to ensure it is working efficiently

  • Check the irrigation controller to ensure it is set in accordance with the mandatory watering restrictions and has an operational backup battery

  • Run all the irrigation zones to determine the flow rates, ensure there are no broken heads, and ensure that the zones are not watering areas such as the street or driveway

  • Complete a detailed inspection report of the findings and identify ways to make the system more efficient

Important

Must be an Orange County Utilities customer who uses potable water for irrigation to qualify for this program.
